Imagination

One of my favorite recent developments about our boy is his budding imagination. Lately some of his favorite games are pretend-based. He pushes cars around the room and pretends they are going to the beach, library, store or park. When they arrive at their destination he acts out what they are doing (throwing rocks in the water, eating food, or reading books). He'll even point into the distance and announce that he's watching birds or looking for whales. He loves to look at books and pretends that he's picking up whatever is in the picture and uses it (like he'll "pick" up a ball and then "throw" it, or "pick" up food and "eat" it). When he's done he'll pretend to put it back in the picture :-) I love watching his imagination flourish and hope that he never looses this gift. Although I'm really enjoying this age, I also look forward to when he is a bit older and can play with more advanced playsets, like Playmobil and Legos. How fun that will be :-)

Speaking of playing and toys, we bought Reshen's birthday present this weekend. Something I've had my eyes on was being sold at Costco for a reasonable price so we snatched it up. It's a Geo Trax electric train set. It's *so* cool! Here's a link to it: http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=10&e=geotrax
You can control the trains by a lever and it has "guys" that you can take in and out of the train and move around the train station and other features to manipulate. It's an interactive and imaginative toy that hopefully will grow with him (there are additional sets you can buy to add on to it). Anyways, I'm very excited to give it to him, but have to hold off for a couple more weeks.

Isn't it the most amazing thing to watch their imagination blossom?! I love it. Nadia's been so creative and imaginative in her play lately too.
That train set looks totally cool!

Brooke, he is getting so big!! The GeoTrax is a great playset!! My son is 7 and I got that for him many years ago and he still enjoys playing with it occasionally. We have put it in Taylers room who is 2 and they both play with it. A great investment!! Not to mention each year we normally got him something to go with it. I guess this year we will get something for Tayler to go with it but they both enjoy it! I love hearing how he is doing!! He is such an imaginative little guy!!
